So what kind of music is this? "Symphonic Prog Folk" maybe...?! Difficult to put this into a drawer. Anyway, it's among the best things I've found in the last few years. The songs are of stunning beauty, with rich keyboard and guitar arrangements, plus flute, violin, and classical brass and woodwind. And let's not forget the most appealing female vocals. Just pure pleasure without rough edges. The album is issued on an italian label, and, in fact, if there weren't the occasional greek lyrics, this band might be erroneously considered an italian prog band... which is a big compliment! Excellent material for eclectic lovers of Rock Progressivo Italiano with a touch of diverse retro-spices (Torba being an exquisite case in point). Peter Adriaens
Brilliantly unhinged hardcore-inspired songs that splinter expectations to smithereens with their split-second rhythm changes & wild vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 28, 2022
Effervescent dream pop from Dianas, with delicate melodies and arrangements that swing from airy & minimal to dense & propulsive. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 14, 2021
If I comprehend the gist of the lyrics right, I’d say there’s probably a lot of folks who’d relate to them now, during the current pandemic, pondering life/death while isolating.
I still need to listen to a lot of Phideaux’s catalogue, but my intuition tells me this one will be near the top of my favourite Phideaux albums list when I’m done, if not at the apex. This is a great conceptual prog rock album. I’m late to the party, but better late than never! 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
